Uni Introduction:
The National Defense University (NDU), formerly known as the Army War Course (1963-70), and National Defense College (1970-2007), is a military university with the different status of a public university in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Attention has been paid to Military training and training for the Armed Forces, including the Pakistan Military Forces, and 200 foreign participants.
First established in Rawalpindi on May 28, 1970, its educational principles focus on martial arts among command disciplines, national security, military strategy, and other specialized academic disciplines. It is one of the country’s oldest military education and training institutions, with additional enrollment for government employees.
General Abdul Hameed Khan served as its first Commandant, while Brigadier Muhammad Ahmed was appointed the first Chief Instructor. The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is appointed as its Chancellor, while the Chief of Staff recommends setting and removing its President, usually a three-star armed officer.
Until March 2007, the NDU functioned as a national university in the country. The government of Pakistan upgraded it to a university in 2007, while the Naval War College gained the status of Armed Forces War College, which is now a part of the National Defense University. Two years after its upgrade, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee re-established both Army War Course, Armed Forces War Course, and National Defense Course faculties. They were designed as The only component of the university, now known as the National Security and War Course.
