Gomal University GU is a public university in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was established in 1974. This is the second oldest university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one of the largest campuses in the province.
That was founded by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who laid the foundation stone of Gomal University in DI Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prime Minister Bhutto laid the foundation stone of Gomal University on May 1, 1974, and pursued his policy of highly educated Pakistan to meet modern global challenges in all walks of life.
The donation and land were provided by Nawabullah Nawaz Khan who served as the first and founding Vice-Chancellor of the University. Nawaz Khan had donated 11000 Kn of agricultural land for the establishment of the university.
